Trip Highlights
How do you do Girona right? How do you sneak in all the best rides, food, wine, and history in this unique part of Spain? The real answer probably lies in coming back to Girona multiple times, but for this trip, we’ll primarily focus on the riding! And we have lots of it on tap including the infamous Roca and Costa Brava rides. This “training” week holds some pretty significant climbs in the balance, but we never go over 100 miles, trying to mix it up as much as possible with a little rest day thrown in the middle. Like all good tours, we’re leaving the best for last, The Roca climb and we’ll have nightly special awards to see who will defend The Coast Club leaders jersey on the final stage. It should be a fun week of riding and getting some time to relax in the spring warmth of Spain.
With a “base” house in walking distance to all the best of Old Town Girona post ride beer and life will be a little easier and give riders a chance to explore Girona on their own terms. But the week isn’t all about the miles, as we have hand picked a few of my favorite dinning experiences including the Michelin rated Sinofos as the main culinary highlight of the week (if anyone can eat the entire pig face, the trip is free), Il Campi, and our final evening dinner to award the “Coast Club” champ. With an in-house chef, daily massage, mechanic, follow vehicles, and leaders jerseys, the week is going to feel like the ultimate week of training.
