We design cycling training camps, clinics, and all-inclusive tours around our clients’ dreams of riding in Hawaii, whether it’s to become a better cyclist or experience the unique scenery and culture of Hawaii. Come and be a part of our ohana (family), bike Hawaii and let us show you amazing ocean views, massive volcano climbs, breaching whales, authentic Paniolo (cowboy) round-ups, and delicious local cuisine. Once in Hawaii, we take care of everything. So don’t worry about the airport pick-up and bike builds, because your only job in Hawaii is to ride and experience paradise.
DISTRICT OF KOHALA
The first day of our tour begins on the IRONMAN world championship course, pausing at the Pololu Valley overlook for our first glimpse of the Hamakua coastline. This ride showcases the unique climate zone changes the Big Island is known for, as we start on the hot dry Kohala coast and climb up to tropical Hawi. We’ll make a special stop in Hawi for coffee at Kohala Coffee Mill. This is King’s Country: the birthplace of King Kamehameha, who united the Hawaiian island chain.
NORTH KOHALA
Hawai’i grows some of the best vanilla in the world, and on this invigorating ride you’ll work to enjoy it! After a mostly downhill cruise to Honoka’a we’ll challenge ourselves with the steep climb to Pa’auilo, up tranquil roads lined with groves of coffee and fruit trees. Our sweet finish is at 1,800 feet, where we’ll enjoy a farm-to-table vanilla milkshake from The Hawaiian Vanilla Company.
KONA
Nothing takes you back to old school Hawai’i like a ride to Holualoa Town. We’ll ascend into the green hills of Kona, where cool nights and volcanic soil produce some of the finest coffee groves on the planet. Nestled 1,200 feet above Kona, Holualoa Town looks almost the same as it did 50 years ago. We’ll lunch at local-favorite Holuakoa Café before exploring charming art galleries and enjoying great ocean views along main street.
DISTRICT OF KA’U
The most serene and scenic ride on the Big Island starts and finishes in South Point, the southernmost point in the U.S. After a quick stop at Punalu’u Bakery, we’ll work off the baked goods by climbing along the slopes of Mauna Loa all the way to Wood Valley. Easily one of the least traveled areas, we get old cane haul roads all to ourselves as we descend back to South Point. Relax and enjoy the view, or go for a cliff jump at the spot known as the end of the earth.
KAPOHO
The Red Road (also known as Kapoho-Kalapana Road) travels along the coast of the Puna district, the site of Hawaii’s most recent volcanic eruption. You’ll pedal through dense tunnels of tropical rainforest, past crashing waves, through coconut groves and plantations, and the lava flows from the 2018 eruption. Our final destination: the naturally heated tide pools of Kapoho.
KA’U
Mauna Loa is often eclipsed by its neighbor, Mauna Kea, but trust us, this is by far a better ride. After climbing quiet roads up the north side of the 13,670 foot volcano we’ll descend into the Volcanoes National Park past ancient Ohia forests to the edge of the active Kilauea crater. This ride is one to cross of the bucket list!
